How to brew common green teas and precautions:

Xihu Longjing

Biluochun

– Brewing method: Suitable for upward throwing method. Firstly, pour hot water of about 80℃ into the cup, then gently put 3 – 5 grams of tea leaves into the water, the tea leaves will sink and spread quickly.

– Note: Biluochun tea leaves are delicate, the water temperature is too high to damage the tea leaves, resulting in bitter tea. The amount of tea can be adjusted according to your personal taste, if you like strong taste, you can throw more.

Huangshan Mao Feng

– Tea brewing method: available in the throwing method or under the throwing method. In the casting method is the first cast tea, with 80 – 85 ℃ hot water to warm the tea leaves, and then add water to seven or eight full; under the casting method is the first tea leaves, and then directly into the 85 ℃ hot water.

– Note: The buds and leaves of Maofeng are tender, so the water temperature should not be too high. At the same time, pay attention to the brewing time, usually 2 – 3 minutes, so as not to over-strength the tea soup.

Liu’an Gua Pian

– Note: Liu’an Gua Slices is a single leaf, no buds and no stalks, the water temperature can be slightly higher, but should not exceed 95℃. It has good resistance to brewing and can be brewed several times, and the brewing time can be gradually extended each time.

Taiping Monkey Kui

– Brewing method: Usually use the downward throwing method. Put about 5 grams of tea leaves into a cup and brew it with hot water at about 90°C. The first steeping time is 3 – 5 minutes, and the subsequent brewing time can be extended appropriately.

– Note: The leaves of Taiping Monkey Kui are large and long, so the amount of tea can be more. Choose a transparent glass cup to enjoy the tea’s stretching posture in the water and its unique orchid aroma, the water temperature is too high will affect the aroma.

Xinyang Mao Jian

– Tea making method: Upper throwing method or middle throwing method can be used. The upper throwing method is to inject water first and then throw the tea, the middle throwing method is to throw the tea first, and then add water after warming it with 80 – 85℃ hot water.

– Note: Xinyang Mao Jian tea leaves are small, too high water temperature will make the tea leaves turn yellow, affecting the taste and colour. The amount of tea thrown is usually 3 – 5 grams, which can be adjusted according to personal taste.

Emei Snow Buds

Anji White Tea

Duyun Mao Jian
